Mastodon - 4.30.22 Milwaukee

My latest and third poster for the boys in Mastodon, for their show 4.30.22 in Milwaukee, WI and the Eagles Ballroom. Continuing to draw on themes of life, death, creation and rebirth presented throughout the band's latest record, Hushed and Grim, I chose to develop a visual interpretation of the ancient Egyptian solar diety Khepri. Khepri represents the rising morning sun, creation, and rebirth in ancient Egyptian culture, among other things and was frequently depicted as a scarab beetle. Buried Acorn - Schfifty

Beer! Beer is good. I got to do this label for Buried Acorn's newest product, Schfifty, a helles lager brewed in Syracuse NY, at the request of the one like Sean Place - beer expert, techno god and friend to many, including myself. This beer was brewed in collaboration with TV star and funny guy Zane Lamprey, whose birthday coincided with his stand-up comedy performance at the brewery a couple weeks back. Very happy to be a part of this whole thing and it was fun to do another beer label. I've been doing mainly gig posters lately where color use is somewhat limited, so it was really cool to be able to use a ton of colors and not worry about it!

Eric Church - Orlando

My latest! I had the opportunity to do a poster for Eric Church for his upcoming show in Orlando, FL on 3/4/22 and this is what I came up with. The car in the illustration is actually a '35 Ford coupe my dad built in 1969. He drove it for a while until he moved on to another project, and it ended up sitting outside for a few decades until my brother decided to resurrect it a couple years ago. Anyway I took a photo of it right before my brother did his thing with it, and used that photo for reference to create this poster. 18x24", 7 colors, printed by Subject Matter Studio in NC. These posters will be available at the show on friday, and I'll have some available in my store eventually as well. There is a regular edition on Cougar Natural 100#C and a rainbow foil variant too. Thanks to Matt at Chief Merch for the gig, this was a fun one!

Phish!

Finally got to do a poster for touring juggernaut known as Phish. Been after this one for a while now, I'm glad it finally happened, and for their NYC New Year's eve run of shows at the Garden too. Unfortunately the shows got postponed due to the pandemic but the posters had already been produced by then, so the band decided to just sell them on their Phish Dry Goods site. For this one I tried to keep it light and incorporate some themes from their latest album Sigma Oasis, and the song Steam, specifically, tied into the venue (Madison Square Garden) and city (NYC) the shows were supposed to happen in. This poster was done in two colorways, show edition of 1,000 posters per colorway and 100 Artist Edition copies per colorway. Huge thank you to Lady Lazarus once again, who pulled off this insane print job in a ridiculously tight timeframe! All copies have now been sold out, but I may have a few stragglers left once I get the orders shipped, we'll see. Mastodon - 11.18.21 Boston

Scored another poster gig for Mastodon - this time for their 11.18.21 show in Boston. For this one, I tried to echo some of the new album's (Hushed & Grim) themes in the artwork - the ouroboros represents constant renewal and lilies represent death and mourning. The building is a part of the Old South Church in Boston. Printed 18x24" in 7 colors on both 100# Natural cover and rainbow foil stocks by Lady Lazarus in TX. Dead & Company!

So I got to do a poster for Dead & Company! For their 3-night string of shows this past weekend at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. Halloween is my favorite holiday by far so this was great to be able to do. I'll have some artist edition copies available at some point. More details on that soon.

Primus in Paso Robles

I was asked to do another Primus poster (!!), this time for their Paso Robles show on October 16, 2021. Always fun to do stuff for these guys. This time I decided to expand upon an idea I had for a t-shirt graphic I did for the band about a year or so ago. They had originally scheduled their current tour for spring of 2020, but Covid screwed that all up so it's happening now in the fall of 2021. The tour is a tribute to one of the band's favorite bands, Rush, and along with their own music, they're playing one of Rush's albums, a Farewell to Kings. I wanted to do something for this poster that included some Rush sci-fi themes, and ended up with this floating space castle rocketship thing. Hope you enjoy! FOO FIGHTERS IN SYRACUSE!

Pretty excited for this one. I was asked to do a poster for the Foo Fighters' 9.15.21 gig in Syracuse, NY. This is big because I lived in Syracuse for 25 years (just moved back to where I grrew up this past April), basically my entire adult life. It was a lot of fun to put this art together and rep my city for such a big show and so this one was pretty special. I put in some nods to Syracuse for the local heads like the famous Tipp Hill upside down traffic light, and some bumper stickers to shout out some of my favorite places in town. Hope you dig it! Metallica - Nothing Else Matters

So recently I was given the honor to be one of 6 artists to create a poster as part of Metallica's Black Album 2021 reissue. I can't really think of anything bigger than this when it comes to creating artwork for metal bands so apparently it's all downhill from here!:) Honestly though this is a huge one for me and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you Chris for having me on this deal, I'm super thankful you decided to allow me the opportunity on this! I'll have a small number of artist copies available soon, details to follow.
