Super stoked to have done a poster for Mastodon! This is a poster for their event tonight in Salt Lake City, UT. It's part of a 26-part poster series curated and produced by Lady Lazarus to celebrate Mastodon's 'Crack the Skye' tour, happening all this month. The band is playing their 2009 album 'Crack the Skye' in full every stop on tour. My poster references several parts of the explanations the band has provided over the years regarding the meanings behind the record and their influences during the writing and recording. If you can't make it to the event tonight to grab one of these posters, I will have my artist edition copies available soon, as well as a variant edition, only available from me. Very happy to finally reveal this poster I did for Halestorm to promote their upcoming european tour this fall with In This Moment and New Year's Day. This artwork will be all over the place this summer on promo duty, and will also be available this fall at the shows themselves, at the merch booths, available in print as a limited silkscreened poster. I will have some artist edition copies available as well, eventually, for those who can't make it to the shows. More details on that soon - sign up for my newsletter in the sidebar to stay up on release date and more details ---> As for the story behind the art, I chose to do an interpretation of the Ancient Greek Moirai, or Fates. In ancient Greek mythology, the Moirai were 3 goddesses who decided the fate of every mortal and god/goddess. I thought depicting the Moirai was a great way to highlight the unique and unusual fact that each of the 3 bands on this tour is fronted by a woman. Hope you dig it!
