Buried Acorn - Schfifty

Beer! Beer is good. I got to do this label for Buried Acorn's newest product, Schfifty, a helles lager brewed in Syracuse NY, at the request of the one like Sean Place - beer expert, techno god and friend to many, including myself. This beer was brewed in collaboration with TV star and funny guy Zane Lamprey, whose birthday coincided with his stand-up comedy performance at the brewery a couple weeks back. Very happy to be a part of this whole thing and it was fun to do another beer label. I've been doing mainly gig posters lately where color use is somewhat limited, so it was really cool to be able to use a ton of colors and not worry about it!

Mastodon - 11.18.21 Boston

Scored another poster gig for Mastodon - this time for their 11.18.21 show in Boston. For this one, I tried to echo some of the new album's (Hushed & Grim) themes in the artwork - the ouroboros represents constant renewal and lilies represent death and mourning. The building is a part of the Old South Church in Boston. Printed 18x24" in 7 colors on both 100# Natural cover and rainbow foil stocks by Lady Lazarus in TX. I have some copies that I have yet to put up for sale but will very soon. Subscribe to my mailing list to be notified about the release! Big thanks to the band and to Lady Lazarus for bringing me in on this project!

Carolina Rebellion

This is a gig poster I did for the big Carolina Rebellion rock/metal festival that happened last weekend. It was screened in 7 colors on black paper and sold at the merch tents.

HYDRA-MATIC!

For those of you following my last few posts on Instagram and Facebook working on this piece, here it is done (finally). Sorry about the watermark, but I've been experiencing some bootlegging lately. This will be expertly screenprinted in 6 colors on really nice French paper within the next couple weeks by the homies at Zink Screenprinting in Oswego, as the first part of a local artist exclusive print series they're starting up. For anyone interested in buying a print, I've set up a pre-order in my webstore at 1000styles.bigcartel.com (or link to right). I won't have many of them (less than 20) - if you want one, don't wait on it. I'll post photos of the screening process and finished prints as soon as I can. Hope you like it, I put a lot of time and myself into this one.

51 Tire and Transmission

Just finished this art for 51 Tire & Transmission's shop tees. Did two versions - one for dark shirts, one for light shirts, since they'll be printing both. Love drawing stuff in this style. All pen and ink except the lettering. Thanks Tony!

Primus Variants Update

For those of you waiting for Primus variant prints who missed my Facebook and Instagram posts from earlier today, you'll be pleased to know that I will shipping out all completed prints tomorrow morning (Thursday July 17 2014). Finally! I know it's been a while since you've placed your order and I apologize, but these prints had quite a bit more work involved than the average print, so I hope you'll be happy when you receive them and feel it was worth the wait. They were done in 3 stages - spraypaint first, then the black ink hand-screened by Galaxy Graphics (thanks again Evan), then I went back in and did some watercolor painting to fill in certain areas with more color. The image below shows them at stage 2 - right after the screen but before the watercolor. I think they're coming out really fresh...super grimy, heavy and hard hitting. I'll post an image soon of all 25 variants together so you can get an idea of their uniqueness - each is one of a kind.

Pretty Don't Win Races

Very proud of this one - hand drawn linework, digital color. I'll be painting over the linework in watercolor on the original piece (about 18x24") to create an alternate version as well. Hoping to be able to use this art in some sort of product - maybe a print, maybe a t-shirt, not sure yet. Gonna shop it around a bit and see if anyone is willing to pick it up. Hope you dig it.
