'31 and Done

Got this piece in the May issue of Ol' Skool Rodz (#51), which should be on newsstands soon, if not already. Got the centerfold - super excited. Hope you dig it. Definitely looking forward to doing more like this.

ἢ τὰν ἢ ἐπὶ τᾶς

My recent ascent into fatherhood has kept me from being able to create new artwork (though my definition of art now includes my daughter), so I haven't posted in a while. But - I was finally able to get back into something this week, mostly painted during naps (hers, not mine). This started as the inkwork for the Gym Class Heroes' Berserkers graphic I did (which was colored digitally), now watercolored and with new lettering. In case anyone cares, the lettering is greek and means "Either [with] it [your shield], or on it" - a spartan battle motto, meaning you either come home with your shield (victorious), or on it (honorable death in battle). Those were the only two choices.

Upstate Berserkers

Just finished another graphic for Gym Class Heroes, this one for their fall 2011 US tour. They're doing a motorcycle club theme and this is being printed on hoodies and embroidered into MC back patches. Pretty cool stuff, I hope I can get one when they're printed. Full graphic first, and a closeup below.....enjoy.

The Tortoise and the Hare

Finished this recently, another graphic for Gym Class Heroes, kind of a take on the famous scene from the movie Say Anything with John Cusack. I actually saw them live last weekend at the NYS Fair, great show. I was able to see the show from the side of the backstage area and kick it with Matt & Travis and have a couple beers after the show. Real nice guys. Their merchandise tent had this shirt for sale as well as the headless pinup girl t-shirt I did for them a while back, I scored one of each, it was the first time I had seen them actually printed. They printed really well. Can't wait to do some more work for these guys - got something in the works right now, in fact...

The machines have become self-aware.

Finished this recently for SRH in San Diego for an upcoming t-shirt release. They wanted something along the lines of a living machine made up entirely of parts from a motocross bike. Did the whole thing with a brush and ink. My hand still hurts. I hope it gets printed!

It's Hot Rod Season

Created this a few months back but it didn't end up being used, so here it is. Hopefully it'll find a home sooner or later. I just like it too much to keep it hidden until someone buys it. I am selling high-quality 12x18" prints of this for $15 if anyone is interested. Hope you enjoy...

I'll be glad to mail them to you at no extra cost. Hopefully we can get a lot of people there!

Muertos y los Dientes

Louis Logic

Just finished a flyer design for a Louis Logic and I Am Many show being held at Tymeless Tattoo in Baldwinsville on Friday the 13th of May - I like how it turned out, I did it entirely with a brush and india ink, with the exception of the lettering and the red background.

Commission

Just finished a commission for a good friend of mine. He wanted some 3D graffiti done as a triptych, in somewhat neutral colors, but left the rest up to me. This is what I ended up with - the piece is acrylic on 3 wood panels, each sized at 28x52", with 2" in between each panel, so like 88x52" overall. Definitely the biggest acrylic painting I've done. I usually like to work smaller so this was HARD. The first image is the whole thing, the other shots are closeups of a couple sections.

In the meantime, here are some photos from the event. The green piece behind the DJs and MCs is something I've recently completed; I'll have better photos up on here soon.

1955

Just completed the watercolor remix of the Trav McCoy/Billionaire art I did recently. I had the original inked drawing that was already on watercolor paper, so why not paint it. In this incarnation, I call it '1955'. It is for sale - it's 13.25x23.5", unframed, although I will be framing it. Email me if you're interested in purchasing it.

Showing at Orange Line Gallery

I will be showing several pieces at the Orange Line Gallery, in downtown Syracuse (106 Montgomery St.). The gallery has just recently opened, I'm excited to be a part of it, the people involved in this are really doing it right and it's very cool. The gallery is having an official 'opening' for its first show on October 21, part of the Syracuse art scene's Third Thursday event. Swing on through and see some of my work (plus lots of other awesome artwork) in person!

8 Million Ways to Die

Here's a couple sample pages I did recently for a graphic novel project pitch, based on the novel 8 Million Ways to Die, by Lawrence Block. Unfortunately, this isn't going anywhere, but I liked the way these turned out so I'm posting them up....enjoy.

HANGRY!

Got a new shirt printed, again through my current partnership with Stab and Grab Productions. I did the art, Stab and Grab handled the printing, and I must say, I'm incredibly impressed with how these turned out. Definitely my best t-shirt yet. I plan on wearing the crap out of my copy of this one for sure. Available in black on white, or bone white on black, for $20 plus shipping, in my shop. I have less than thirty of these total, so if you want one, act quickly. Big up to the one Beauhemyth for coming through in a big way on this venture.

New T-shirt Graphic Done for Gym Class Heroes

Here's a t-shirt graphic I recently completed for the Gym Class Heroes. They let me use 8 colors, I loved it. I think they're available on tour only right now, haven't seen it for sale anywhere online yet. I like this one a lot, hope you enjoy.
