Mastodon - 4.30.22 Milwaukee

My latest and third poster for the boys in Mastodon, for their show 4.30.22 in Milwaukee, WI and the Eagles Ballroom. Continuing to draw on themes of life, death, creation and rebirth presented throughout the band's latest record, Hushed and Grim, I chose to develop a visual interpretation of the ancient Egyptian solar diety Khepri. Khepri represents the rising morning sun, creation, and rebirth in ancient Egyptian culture, among other things and was frequently depicted as a scarab beetle.
