Holiday Sale!

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are always a lot of fun for me, seeing family and friends and enjoying time away from the usual grind. But the ever-worsening relentless approach of the corporations trying to steal your valuable dollars in the name of the holidays and the 'holiday creep' as it's become known, really annoys me. However, I do enjoy giving gifts to those on my list, so dealing with the american capitalist machine is a necessary evil. I just try to keep it as limited as possible, and buy from small businesses and local craftsmen as much as I can. I assume most of you reading this also have plans to buy a few gifts for your loved ones - so if your list includes someone who would enjoy my art, I am offering an incentive to visit my shop - a free poster or two! To get to my webstore, you can click the image at right, or this link. Read on for details...

Sketch Collection Booklet

I've gotten some pretty good response on some of my recent pencil drawings, so I decided to put a bunch of them together in a booklet format to make available in my webstore. Since they're just drawings and not really finished pieces, it made more sense to me to do it this way to to try and make prints of them or sell the originals (which would have to be literally ripped from the book and I don't want to do that). So I scanned them at high resolution and created this booklet - it's 32 pages of gory, dripping, violent, disturbing characters that make people think I'm a sadistic torture-killer just waiting for the right moment to murder a bus full of tourists or something. But chances are, since you're already here on my site, you're into this kind of thing and you likely won't be offended. Most of these drawings have already been published on this site or on my various social media, but in low resolution, small size, and sometimes just photos, not scans - so this booklet collects them all in one convenient place in high quality print. I thought it was a cool way to make them accessible and affordable to those who might be interested. You could potentially take the booklet apart and create like little 30 prints to hang up if you wanted. Anyway, here's a preview - and it's available in the webstore here. I'll sign each copy, and it comes with a bunch of stickers too. Word up!

51 Tire and Transmission

Just finished this art for 51 Tire & Transmission's shop tees. Did two versions - one for dark shirts, one for light shirts, since they'll be printing both. Love drawing stuff in this style. All pen and ink except the lettering. Thanks Tony!

Hot Dog Chainsaw!

Just a maniacal weekend sketch...I'd love to ink up one of these and make a band t-shirt graphic out of it...

Louder Than Life

I was asked to create some t-shirt art for the Louder Than Life music festival that's happening in Louisville, Kentucky this weekend (Oct. 4/5). There are some really great bands playing and I guess it's also a celebration of fine whiskey and food as well as the music, wish I could've gone! They specifically wanted some hot rod/ed roth type art, so I came up with this. I'm posting two versions - I did the color-limited version first, and I still like it a bit better, but they wanted more color, so the second version is what was printed. I still dig it a ton, I just tend to gravitate towards limited color stuff myself. I'm sure the colorful version will sell more shirts though. Regardless, it was a great project, and they were actually kind enough to send me a couple sample shirts too - one of which I'm keeping, the other is for sale in my webstore. The print came out really nice - definitely proud of this one!

PYRITHION \m/

Did this t-shirt graphic recently for death metal band Pyrithion but it's unfortunately never going to see the light of day. Super bummed about that because I really like how this turned out, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thought I'd at least put it up and get a little self-promo out of it. It's hand-drawn pen & ink, scanned and then colored digitally. Enjoy!

Codependency

Just a wacked-out sketch I came up with while watching ghetto birds hover overhead and gunshots and sirens blaring in the near distance at the last Toxic Lakers drink and draw session in downtown Syracuse....enjoy the effects....

Mike Tyson's PUNCH-OUT!!

I'm so bad with self-promotion. I should've posted this like a month ago when I finished it. It's a piece I created as part of the "8-Bit and Beyond" show at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn. The opening was August 9th. The show is actually over now, but my piece, as well as others, are still available for sale on their site at this link. Over 70 artists all contributed their take on a classic video game...I chose Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. Here's my piece...

"You must have big rats if you need Hattori Hanzo steel...."

This one was a lot of fun. Gotta do more like this. A private commission - pen and ink with watercolor, 8x10". Working small like this was cool, much easier to get into it than my usual larger finished size.

MORE FRIGGIN POSTAL SLAPS

I've done over a hundred of these stickers now (in this style, I mean - who knows how many I've done over the course of the last 20 years - thousands??). I'm not gonna post all of them because that shit would be tiring. So instead, here's a few of my recent favorites. By the way, you can buy some of these in my webstore, linked here and also to the right of this post (where it says SHOP). You can buy individual stickers or a mystery pack of 6 for the price of 5. I try to keep the prices low, but keep in mind these take me about a half hour each to do, so I can't sell them for pennies. Go check them out!

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Can't believe I never posted this. Finished inks for my old friend Dan's leg tattoo. Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas - the composition is weird because it's a lower leg sleeve, so I tried to shape it to wrap around correctly. I just added the color to make a pop a little more on a screen, final product was black on white only. This was done in pen and ink.

Primus Variants Update

For those of you waiting for Primus variant prints who missed my Facebook and Instagram posts from earlier today, you'll be pleased to know that I will shipping out all completed prints tomorrow morning (Thursday July 17 2014). Finally! I know it's been a while since you've placed your order and I apologize, but these prints had quite a bit more work involved than the average print, so I hope you'll be happy when you receive them and feel it was worth the wait. They were done in 3 stages - spraypaint first, then the black ink hand-screened by Galaxy Graphics (thanks again Evan), then I went back in and did some watercolor painting to fill in certain areas with more color. The image below shows them at stage 2 - right after the screen but before the watercolor. I think they're coming out really fresh...super grimy, heavy and hard hitting. I'll post an image soon of all 25 variants together so you can get an idea of their uniqueness - each is one of a kind.

PRIMUS PRINTS ARE COMING

Just an update for everyone who ordered a Primus print a couple weeks back.

If you ordered a STANDARD edition only, your print HAS SHIPPED and you should receive it soon. I don't know exactly when you'll receive it, but they were all shipped USPS Priority Mail, so it shouldn't take longer than another week or so, even if you're outside of the US. Most should already have been delivered actually. There is tracking on all of them, so if you haven't received it in a week (June 17), email me and I'll give you the tracking number.

If you ordered a VARIANT or a variant AND a standard edition, your order has NOT shipped yet, because the variants are still in production. I'm estimating another week or so before those can ship. I'll post here again when those orders ship so anyone interested will know they can start checking their mailbox.

Thanks again for all the orders!

PRIMUS POSTER SERIES!!

Super stoked to finally be able to release this art! Feels like I've been waiting forever when it's really only been 3 weeks or so since I started the project. Very excited to be a part of the Primus Poster Series for 2014 alongside some very great artists! Every year Primus has a bunch of artists each do a gig poster for a live show they'll be playing as part of that year's concert tour. My poster advertises for the show tonight (May 21) in Portsmouth, Va.

This was a lot of fun, I had a lot of creative freedom, it was great! Would definitely love to do more stuff in this vein in the future. Thanks to Zoltron for bringing me in on the project, and thanks to Galaxy Graphics in Rochester for handling the printing. They did a great job - it's 6 colors on 18x24" Mohawk Via light gray 80# cover stock.

I have just 50 of these signed and numbered posters available in my webstore, as of tomorrow morning, May 22, 2014, 8:00am EST. If you want one, I suggest you jump on it, Primus posters are known to sell out quick!

PRIMUS!

I'm super excited to be part of the 2014 edition of the Primus Poster Series!! Besides being a big fan of Primus, there are some seriously talented artists in this year's lineup. Each artist does one poster that advertises one show on the band's current tour. I recently finished my poster art and it has been printed - a limited 6-color screenprint done masterfully by the skilled hands at Galaxy Graphics in Rochester, NY. I can't release the art or any details about the show it advertises for until the band does, but I can at least put up this photo of me signing the prints earlier today (almost like a real artist or something!). I will have a few copies of the poster for sale in my webstore after the show - I will add it to the store and announce it here once I do, keep your eyes peeled to my site if you're interested! Had a lot of fun doing this, thanks to Zoltron for bringing me in on this!

Pretty Don't Win Races - the variant

Finally got this painted. 18x24", ink, watercolor, and a little acrylic. I like how it came out. Time to frame it and stack it with the rest I guess. Hope you enjoy.

Pretty Don't Win Races

Very proud of this one - hand drawn linework, digital color. I'll be painting over the linework in watercolor on the original piece (about 18x24") to create an alternate version as well. Hoping to be able to use this art in some sort of product - maybe a print, maybe a t-shirt, not sure yet. Gonna shop it around a bit and see if anyone is willing to pick it up. Hope you dig it.

Sikpipes

Did this mural a little while back, been lazy on updating my site. Here it is, about 7x40 feet, all spraypaint, took me two days of painting to do it but it worked out well I think. Done for Sikpipes at their shop in Tioga, PA. Had a blast doing this, definitely down to do some more projects like this if anyone needs it! The room I painted this in wasn't large enough to get a straight-on shot of the whole wall, so I had to settle for a composite of many shots. I've included the composite below as well as a couple closeups.

High on Fire "what if"

Did this as another "what-if" project, something I might do for High on Fire if they ever contracted me to do some t-shirt art for them. Fun little piece... And here's the mockup:

Sometimes the Joker should win...

Just a sketch. Might turn this into a painting at some point, I think it could work out nice fully done...

SLAP SMACK

Having fun doing some quickie postal stickers recently....
