1955

Just completed the watercolor remix of the Trav McCoy/Billionaire art I did recently. I had the original inked drawing that was already on watercolor paper, so why not paint it. In this incarnation, I call it '1955'. It is for sale - it's 13.25x23.5", unframed, although I will be framing it. Email me if you're interested in purchasing it.

Showing at Orange Line Gallery

I will be showing several pieces at the Orange Line Gallery, in downtown Syracuse (106 Montgomery St.). The gallery has just recently opened, I'm excited to be a part of it, the people involved in this are really doing it right and it's very cool. The gallery is having an official 'opening' for its first show on October 21, part of the Syracuse art scene's Third Thursday event. Swing on through and see some of my work (plus lots of other awesome artwork) in person!

8 Million Ways to Die

Here's a couple sample pages I did recently for a graphic novel project pitch, based on the novel 8 Million Ways to Die, by Lawrence Block. Unfortunately, this isn't going anywhere, but I liked the way these turned out so I'm posting them up....enjoy.

HANGRY!

Got a new shirt printed, again through my current partnership with Stab and Grab Productions. I did the art, Stab and Grab handled the printing, and I must say, I'm incredibly impressed with how these turned out. Definitely my best t-shirt yet. I plan on wearing the crap out of my copy of this one for sure. Available in black on white, or bone white on black, for $20 plus shipping, in my shop. I have less than thirty of these total, so if you want one, act quickly. Big up to the one Beauhemyth for coming through in a big way on this venture.

New T-shirt Graphic Done for Gym Class Heroes

Here's a t-shirt graphic I recently completed for the Gym Class Heroes. They let me use 8 colors, I loved it. I think they're available on tour only right now, haven't seen it for sale anywhere online yet. I like this one a lot, hope you enjoy.

Stab & Grab/1000STYLES Skate Decks Soon to be Available

Got a prototype of the skate deck I'm working on with Stab & Grab. I'll soon be offering these for sale through my shop (on the right margin of this page), as soon as I can grab a few production copies. I really love how these are turning out, so I thought I'd post up a couple photos of the prototype. I tried to get the best natural light possible on these by taking the photos outside, but my crappy photos don't really do this justice - the art looks REALLY good on these. There will not be a white base layer printed before the art, so the light tones of color and wood grain of the hardwood maple used in the construction decks shows through in a really cool way, 100% complementing the artwork. And this isn't a heat transfer or even a silkscreen, this is ultra-professional high-end ish. I'm super excited about these - not sure how much I'll be charging for them yet, but if anyone's interested in reserving one, just email me. I won't have many, we ain't no high rollers over here. Check it:

I know, it's been a while now with no new art posted. I've done a bunch of new commercial stuff, just can't make it public yet. In the meantime, I want to advertise that I will be showing artwork at a drum&bass/art show this friday, May 14. Here's the details:

Drum & Bass and Dubstep, and Visual art all over the walls

One of my sponsored DJs, SEAN PLACE, will be spinning a set there, which is awesome, because he's normally a techno DJ. Can't wait to see it.

Time Magazine #1 Music Video of 2009!

Time Magazine 'Year in Pictures' issue just voted Raekwon's 'House of Flying Daggers' the #1 music video of 2009! This is the video I recently did all the illustration for, so I'm super stoked about it. Of course, I was just one part of the team, gotta give credit to Sasso and Peli (writers and directors - Chain Gang Productions), and Drew and Ryan (animators/effects) for being in the trenches with me making it happen. This was the first single off Raekwon's new record, Cuban Linx II, and it was produced by the one J Dilla. Chea.

Other accolades include:

Pitchfork - “Top Music Videos of 2009” [Nov 21, 2009]
Rap-Up - “10 Best Music Videos of 2009” [Dec 29, 2009]
Kevin Nottingham - #4 “Top 10 Music Videos: 2009” [Dec 21, 2009]
Rumproast - #6 Top 15 Music Videos of 2009” [Dec 22, 2009]
Kata Rokkar - “Best Music Videos of 2009” [Dec 7, 2009]
mashKULTURE - #21 “Best Music Videos of the Year (2009)” [Dec 21, 2009]

Here's the video, if you haven't seen it yet.

Lilies and Irises

And you thought I was playing when I said 1000 styles. This painting was done for my mom for Christmas. Acrylic on canvas, 16x20", plus the frame (thanks Semo). And unless you're my wife, don't bother asking me to paint something along these lines for you - this was a one-time thing!

Recent Work

All recent work, transferred from my old site layout...

These two are full color process t-shirt graphics done for Killer Kreations in Philadelphia:

This one's another full color process t-shirt graphic, done for Stab and Grab:

Bulemaniacal, a 4-color t-shirt graphic done for my own part-time line of t-shirts, available on three different colors of t-shirts, in my shop, linked on the right side of this page:

Album/CD art for various clients:

Miscellaneous flyer design for various clients:

Here are a few examples of more than 80 custom one-off baseball caps I painted recently for all sorts of people all over the globe. These were done with spraypaint and paint markers:

Miscellaneous commercial work for various clients:

Miscellaneous fine art and randomness:
These first two were inspired by the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre film from the 1970s directed by Tobe Hooper (both acrylic on canvas):

These two are painted on 10" records (yes, 10", not 12" - they're old records)

Painted this on a Dickies workjacket:

The first one here is album art, second is fine art:

The piece on the left is two skate decks fused together and painted on, the middle is a 7 foot tall portrait I painted as part of a graffiti mural (all done with spraycans, no paintbrushes), and the one on the right is a mini-spraycan I found squashed in a parking lot, took it home, and painted on it:
